Composing emotions, one story at a time.
Vini is a Dutch media composer with a background in both composition and performance. Their work is driven by a fascination with storytelling, using music to capture atmosphere and emotion. Their music often blends acoustic textures with electronic elements, shaping atmospheres that are both intimate or bombasticly cinematic.

Beyond commissioned work, Vini explores personal projects under several names. With Artemyn, they create dark, sci-fi infused rock that mixes aggression and vulnerability. Vulpen is a more reflective project, weaving together folk, ambient, and cinematic influences into dreamlike soundscapes. And under Vinicus, Vini creates liquid drum and bass, crafting rhythms that connect audiences on the dancefloor.

Media compositions
Komt wel goed is a short film about Mark and Saar. Mark lost one of his friends to suicide and has been shutting down emotionally, sinking into depression. Saar faces harassment on the street and at work, simply for being a woman. When they get stuck in an elevator together, they’re forced to open up about their struggles and resolving them.

Reclame spec work
To show what I can do, I removed the original music from a few ads and created my own soundtrack.
For Decathlon, I aimed to create a high-energy vibe: powerful, but not overly masculine (since the ad seems targeted at women). I also wanted the music to tone down when the runner takes a rest, while still carrying the pulse of a heartbeat, like the feeling right after an intense sprint.

For a Larp I was asked to create a soundscape to get players into the scene of a dream/nightmare
Trailer music
To practice writing trailer music, I created a custom score for the series The 100. I extended the video slightly to give myself more room to build a fuller, more dynamic composition. This is not an official trailer, just a personal exercise in scoring.
Encore is a short animation made in collaboration with BUAS students. For this project, I worked on the sound design, specifically focusing on movement sounds.
Artemyn
ARTEMYN is the captain of a starship, navigating a hyper-capitalist future where freedom comes at the barrel of a laser. The sound is cinematic and raw, blending towering aggression with quiet, personal collapse. Inspired by the likes of Arcane and Starset.
Vulpen
Mist curls between the trees as a single sunbeam breaks through the canopy and embraces you. Vulpen (Vini van Meijgaarden, Oscar Merx and Anne Pluimers) creates music like a dream you don’t want to wake from: comforting and full of hope. Folk, ambient, and film music blend into a world you’re able to lose yourself for a while. With influences like Eels and Bon Iver.
Vinicus
From soft spacey textures to raw DnB riffs, Vinicus brings live guitar into orbit with their DJ sets. With influences like Kenya Grace, Fox Stevenson, Paper Dragon, and Camo & Krooked, their music is all about connection, guiding even first-time explorers through the stars of DnB
